I recently did a fashion show this weekend in NYC and for some reason i thought of Ezra Pound’s poem that we read in class. I was thinking in particular of the lines, “The apparition of these faces in the crowd: Petals, on a wet, black bough.” As i was walking down the runway, i was literally seeing face after face. Now, normally when im walking i dont pay attention to people in the crowd even though i maybe looking straight at them. But this runway show was so different because it was held at the Empire Hotel Rooftop and it was so cluttered, so everyone was soo close together. The people watching and the camera men and women were literally right in my face. But either way it was fun and at least this was the first time i thought of modern poetry outside of the classroom.
Here’s a really short clip of the first half of the show. Im the one in the gray dress with the Cleopatra wig
