Below is Michelangelo’s famous painting, “Leda and the Swan,” for your viewing pleasure and as aid to (some of) your visualization of Yeats’ images from the poem. Return to your notes on Yeats’ ideas about history and personality and the cosmos — how entities function in antithesis (as opposites). Find antithetical elements at work in the poem and comment on one (or more) of these. Think about the poem’s form and see if there are opposites at work in any of the formal elements. Think of opposing forces, antithetical images, concepts, etc….. Let’s see what you do with this and we’ll let this be the ONE blog post you do before Tuesday. Have fun!
