Harmony Korine is a filmmaker, some might refer to as a “visual poet.”  Here’s an article that discusses his career and touches on the “poetics” of what he does as a film director.  I personally find his work too disturbing and bleak, but I appreciate his qualities and approach to making the films.  I like the ideas he tries to convey.  He’s pretty far out though, the end of his film “Mister Lonely” involves several nuns jumping out of a plane…  To each their own.
